i had sort of a bad day yesterday.  one thing after another went wrong.  the carpet shampooer that i rented exploded water and shampoo all over a rug on my hardwood floor.  after over an hour of cleaning that up i went to hang up some of justin's clean laundry.  when hung his last clean, nicely ironed shirt, the entire closet decided to come right out of the wall and fall on me.  with clothes, and gosh knows what else i had on the closet shelves now scattered all over the place i decided if i didn't clean it up now, it wasn't going to happen, so i spent an hour cleaning that up.  i looked at the clock and ran out the door to sunny skies and was so excited to head out to a photo session with the crook family.  i got there early to scout out some new places and grabbed my camera to take some test shots.  and that's when it hit me.  i wanted to throw up and kick myself at the same time.  yea, its really embarrassing.....i forgot my batteries at home. i can't believe i am admitting this, but it happened.  please don't judge me. it will never happen again!  but luckily, andy and jennifer were running a little late and were my saving graces in meeting justin to grab my batteries for me.  i mean, that is like the cardinal rule for a photographer.  always have fully charged batteries. ( and lots of memory cards)  and lots of them!!!  and i always do!  i wanted to cry but instead said a prayer, thanking the lord for blessing me with a sweet husband who deals with me in these crazy, over the top, dramatic, stressful moments of mine, and for andy and jennifer who were kind enough to understand i was just having a bad day.  well, needless to say they made it all better by allowing me to capture their sweet love for the son ian.  it was the first time i had met ian, although i felt i already knew him because jennifer is quite the photographer herself, and does such a great job documenting him and his precious life and then letting people like me see him on facebook.  :)  when the crook family first got there, my blue skies were looking more like gray clouds and my sun was hiding, but the sun came back and i took full advantage of it!  here are some of my favs from our session.
andy and jennifer, thanks for being so sweet!  i had the best time taking pictures of your family!!!

Oh my goodness, what an absolutely beautiful family! I'm glad that they were so understanding and that they helped you out on your bad day. My favorite picture is the one where Ian is leaning toward the camera smiling (with his mother holding him in the background). Gorgeous photo shoot, Ashley! :-)
