so after so much yucky weather the month of october, we were finally blessed with some sunlight!!  i could not have been more excited when i woke up to see this bright yellow thing in the sky.  i have increasingly become more and more obsessed with natural light this past year and use it every opportunity that i can.  if i have a chance to shoot into the light, i will do it.  i love love love love it.  not to say you can't get great, crisp, smooth images out of a cloudy day, but there is just something inside me that screams with joy when the sun comes out and hits my lens.  needless to say, i hadn't had the opportunity to shoot into light pretty much the whole month of october so when the sun came out this day, i took full advantage of it!

i had such a great time hanging out with matt and ashley and their two precious dogs.  i can't wait til your wedding next summer!!

a couple weeks ago i shot patrick and tiffany's wedding at butterfly gap and if i could describe this wedding in one word it would be, sweet.  from the moment i met tiffany i just loved her.  she has such an infectious personality.  she's bubbly, fun, and so kind.  i had such a fun day getting to hang out with her and her family while she got ready.  i wasn't at all shocked when i met patrick that he was just like tiffany.  i asked tiffany while she was getting ready if she thought she would cry during the ceremony.  she responded, "oh, i don't know, maybe..."  well, i was the one who was boo-hooing!  their ceremony was one of my favorite ever.  the weather wasn't the best, but the leaves were at their peak and butterfly gap just looked beautiful.

patrick and tiffany, thank you so much for letting me capture your sweet love.  it was such a pleasure.

she had some GREAT shoes

patrick's reaction when he first saw tiffany was so sweet.  he had to turn and around and take a minute to take it all in.  then, he did something that i thought was soooo sweet.  he grabbed a basket of rose petals and spread them down the aisle for his future wife to walk on.  it was seriously one of the most genuine, precious things i have seen at a wedding

so, a couple weeks ago, i went and shot a birthday party that my friend from the modern hostess, allison sprouse, planned.  allison owns an event planning company and does a FABULOUS JOB.  her events are always unique, creative, and well, awesome.  allison has such great taste that no matter what she puts her hands on, it ends up looking amazing.  i knew when she called and asked me to come and shoot some detail shots of this party that it was going to look great.  the event was held at cherokee and was originally intended to be held outside, but i think that it worked out for the better that they brought it inside.  allison did such a great job of setting a really fun mood with cute, fun details, and great lighting.  here are just a few shots of the details from the party.....

oh and by the way, allison and her husband matt also own an awesome store called abode.  it is in market square and if you haven't checked it out, YOU MUST DO THAT TODAY.  it is my most favorite store in all of knoxville.  not only that but allison is the mother to the most adorable little girls, sophie and hazel......yea, she's pretty much super woman.

the lounge area was one of my favorite parts.  not only did i love the pink lighting shining behind the couch, i thought the cluster of paper lanterns was such a neat touch!

i posted the last two images just to show you more how the lighting looked in the room once the guests arrived....the darker it got outside, the cooler the lighting looked in the ballroom.  great job again allison!!!

so i am FINALLY back to blogging!  i cannot believe how behind i have gotten, but this week, i am determined to catch up!  there will be lots of fun posts to come!

first, a few weeks ago i shot scott and rebecca's wedding.  you might remember them from their engagement session i had shot this summer.  scott and rebecca are such a sweet couple and i felt so honored to be a part of their day.  it may not have been the weather that they had dreamed of ( i mean seriously, what was the deal with the weather in october????) but they definitely made the best of it.  it was a little bit chilly but i don't think that there was anything but a smile painted on rebecca's face all day long.  she never complained.  she was completely laid back and so excited to be getting married.  even with some chilly weather, it was still the perfect day.

rebecca and scott, i hope you had an incredible time on your honeymoon!  it was such a pleasure to be a part of your day!

lisa foster did an incredible job on the flowers, as always!
